THYSSEN AND HERR HITLER
(SPECIAL TO “CHINA MAIL")
Berne, To-day.
A decree published in the German official Gazette on December 12 provides for the confiscation of the entire for- tune and properties of Herr Thyssen, the famous German industrial magnate, at pre- sent residing in the canton of Ticino, in Switzerland.
The measure applies to Herr Thys- belongings, sen's private
industrial assets and investments.
Ironically enough the confisca- tion is made under the decree of July, 1933 on the "seizure of Com- munist property."
Herr Thyssen fled recently from the Swiss Germany. On crossing border he wired to Hitler saying: "
Com- gave you my fortune to fight 'munism, not to support it."
Herr Thyssen had been one of the first supporters of the Nazi Party and lent large sums to Hitler.--Havas.
