SPLENDID ALL-ROUND FEAT BY A. el ARCULLI Scores 87 And Takes 7 For 31 Against Queen's
MARTIN AND GREEN AMONG THE WICKETS
TWO CRICKET MATCHES were played at Sookunpoo yesterday.
In an inter-unit Army match Signals, thanks to the fine bowling of Martin (8 for 17) scored a narrow victory over Medical Corps for whom Q.M.S. Green was again promin- ant with 6 for 45.
Highest score of the match was Q.M.S. Paterson's 34 which included 6 boundaries.
The splendid all-round form of A. el Arculli featured the match between' La Salle and Queen's College.
Arculli batted brilliantly hitting no fewer than 18 fours in an innings of 87. Next highest scorer for La Salle was R. Sequeira with 13!
Arculli followed up his batting with
a devastating piece of bowling, which brought him 7 for 31 in 8 overs.
At one period his analysis read 4 for 9 but a bad 4th. over, when he con- ceded three boundaries, spoiled what would have been even more remark- able figures.
Arculli occasionally plays for Indian Recreation Club.
QUEEN'S HEAVY DEFEAT
Playing against La Salle College at Sookunpoo yesterday, Queen's College was beaten by 61 runs.

Club expected stern opposition from "Royal Scots yesterday in their mid-week Rugby match, but the In- clusion of five stalwarts of the first fifteen in the "A" team proved of no avall and, despite they lost by two goals (10 points) to a goal and a try (8 points) after be- Ing 10-8 down at the interval.
Considering Duke was absentee and the rest of the team were on night operations, the Royals performed very creditably, especially Lang and Pinkerton, shoul- the latter being head and ders above the other forwards view. Cuthbertson played the threequarter line and was responsible for Boe's score. Boe was more at home as centre three- quarter and Lang did well at fly- half, though he received little sup- port from Gracie, who was playing behind a pack which seldom secured the ball from the tight.

Alec Taylor made a welcome re- turn to the Club ranks and seems fit again, taking part in several pro- mising forward movements. Bidwell passed very accurately and had a good understanding with Carruthers on the wing. Day cut through several times, but his passing was invariably poor. Stout showed improved form at forward, but the Club pack failed to last the game and were beaten re- peatedly in the loose and line-outs.
ARMY
RUGBY CHANGES
(By "SCRUM-HALF”)
Army have

made drnotic changes in their team to meet Navy in the Triangular Rugby Tournament on Saturday at Boo- kunpoo.
Boe has been dropped from the fly-half position and a place at cen tre threequarter could not be found for him with Walte and Lang both fit. Marsh is not playing on the wing, being replaced by Artingstall, who did well against Club "A" last Satur day, and Ridsdale is not available due to the fact he is down with
malaria.
Hewitt is back in the pack, but only as a front row forward, Suther- land being given the hooking posi- tion.
May, a newcomer from the Dur- hams, is reputed to be an excellent scrum-half and is being given his first trial here in a big representa- |tive game.
THE SCORING Cuthbertson was responsible for the opening try when he evaded Day, punted ahead and then transferred to Boe, who went over between the posts and added the goal points him- self. Lang knocked on a pass shortly after but the infringement passed Marsh's weak tackling caused his unnoticed and he broke through only omission, but the exclusion of Boe to pass wildly to Pinkerton who was will cause criticism as Lang could backing up.
