DERBY AT KING'S PARK

(By "ADREM")

There will be much keen- ness at King's Park this evening when, in Mixed Doubles Division of the Bad- minton League, will be stag- ed a local derby between the "A" and "B" teams of Club de Recreio.

On paper the powerful "A" team should win with something to spare but I have been assured by the cap- tain of the "B" team that it is not going to be as easy as all that!

The senior team will be much the same as it was last season but the juniors should be considerably streng- thened by the return to the game of Miss Cynthia Silva, erstwhile senior player, who will partner C. C. Pereira.

Pereira is in great form at the mo- ment and provided Miss Silva has been able to get in some practice this pair should not figure

on the wrong end of the score too often.

I, A. Carvalho and Miss Remedios are also an experienced pair, while H. S. Gonsalves and Miss Maggie Xavier, а new combination, are capable of rising to great heights,

Having regard to their greater ex- perience the "A" team should win but all the games should be interest- ing in that nothing is likely to be given away.

TEAMS

Recreio "A" M. A. Oliveira and Miss Mylthie Silva; J. J. Remedios and Miss Olga Ribeiro A. M. Rodrigues and Miss M. Ribeiro,

:

Recreio "B" L. A. Carvalho and Miss S. Remedios; H. S. Gonsalves and Miss Maggie Xavier; C.. C. Pereira and Miss Cynthia Silva.
