Naall's team was all-Chinese with the exception of their left back, Del- gado, who, after the interval, took the regis- centre-forward position and tered the "hat-trick." Throughout the game he was the main-spring of the team.
Chan Kam, at inside right, opened the scoring for the winners, but short- ly after, an equaliser was scored by Naal's right-wing, Hibbert, scored again to take the lead. Kam malised just before the terval.

BY BEST BALL A large or even a small body of water seems to have a decided at- traction for golfers. Apparently too, water has a magnetic quality as far as golf balls go. One needs only to witness or experience a few shots of this kind, to realize that the mental portion of golf too. plays a considerable part For example, the uncertain golfer is always under a terrific pressure to lift his head when he faces an (Continued at foot of next Col.)

COMMON ILLS MAY MEAN days of suffering
WHOLE days of suffering, and in many cases
weeks of anxiety and pain can be definitely avoided by the simple action of taking 'ASPRO. When people realise what a wonderful medicine tablet ‘ASPRO' is-how it soothes, pain--bow it reduces feverishness, and how, after ingestion in the system, being a solvent of ̃uric acid—an in- ternal antiseptic—an anti-pyretic or fever reducer --and a powerful germicide, it strikes at the cause" of numerous complaints, then much suffering will be avoided much illness prevented.

HONG Kong Ladies' Hockey Asso-
ciation are to be congratulated on the manner in which they con- ducted the inquiry on Monday into the recent incident which resulted in the abandonment of the friendly game and between Diocesan Girls' School Club de Recreio.
It was in every respect an unfor- tunate affair and called for a.great deal of tact in handling.

In conversation with one of the star performers at the inquiry-she one of the people called up for ques- tioning-I formed the impression that she was in every way satisfied with the the procedure and considered action taken extremely fair to all par- ties.
This was by no means just a cur- sory examination of facts. I am told this item on the agenda occupied the best part of an hour. All aggrieved allowed to have their parties were say and, I gather, cross-examination was allowed.

LIKE the Association's ruling very much. They were called upon to deal with a team of schoolgirls and, while taking
fact into account the that they were schoolgirls and imbued with the impetuosity usually attribut-- ed to youth, they managed to indicate their disapproval without being too drastic. In fact, they are-treating will, them as naughty, children who in future, be required to play under the watchful eye of arì adult!

MR. Gonsalves, the unfortunate um-

pire in the match, has been put to a great deal of trouble and incor- venience; he has been required to give evidence at two meetings and has had to frame reports besides replying to what he felt was uncalled for marks in this column! I can assure Mr. Gonsalves now that everything is settled, that anything that has appear- ed in this column has been prompted by the best of intentions and I' can now state that I sympathised with him not a little in being involved in matter of this kind.
Now that all has been settled and no bones broken, so to speak, I trust that there will be no ill-fecting any- where and the remainder of the sea- son will pass off smoothly.

Other players make up their mind to keep their heads down so deter...... minedly that their stroke is stiff, the body stilted and oftentimes a sudden lurch features the lost part of the stroke.
There are plenty of good swim- mers who have a deadly fear of water when they face it from the tee. The above illustration of Bobby Jones, shows a provechire, that can well be emulated. There aren't many golfers, who take a bag of balls and try hitting over a water hazard as lantan is doing above.
