DOMINIONS' WAR EFFORT: AN ANALYSIS
London, To-day.
THE FOLLOWING disclosures of the Dominion war effort have been made in connection with the present Lon- don discussions.
In the naval sphere, the Dominions have mobilised their resources in ships and men and vessels of the Domin- ion Navies are now co-operating with our own far from home waters.

BRITAIN'S FINANCING
OF WAR

The Dominions have also taken all necessary measures for local defence. Canada is training a division avail- able as an expeditionary force if and when required and is taking steps to' prepare a second.
Australia is mobilising her militia of 80,000 men and is raising a special force of 20,000 for service in Austra- lia or overseas.
New Zealand is raising a special force of 6,500 which is already In training.

The Resolution will empower the Treasury to borrow any sums required for the year ending on March 31, 1940, plus £250,000,000 and any sums required for the repayment of maturing securities.. The terms of the proposed loans will be decided at the time of issue.

Even before the outbreak of the Dominions had proved invaluable for the provision of pilots and Canada, Australia and New Zealand were now co-operating in a scheme for the train- ing of personnel and production of aircraft.
South Africa was making its own arrangement for the training and de- veloping of air resources.
In the economic sphere, a United Kingdom Mission is now in Canada discussing potentialities with regard to the supply of munitions and raw materials. Discussions are also in progress with all four Dominions for the purchase of foodstuffs and other materials.
SMALLER PARTS
The smaller Dominions are contri- buting their full share. Newfoundland is recruiting hundreds of men for the Navy and to making arrangements for recruiting others for the Army.
