ON Tuesday the Army Tennis Lea- gue and various competitions came to their official conclusion.

Main centre of attraction of course was the final match for the team championship between R.A.O.C and R.A.M.C. The game was a very ex-

citing affair and fluctuated a good deal before Ordnance Anally managed to clinch victory.

of Sgts. Emberson and Duffield Ordnance, both brilliant singles play- ers, were teamed together and

were unbeaten in their three sets.

Their closest set was that in which they met Lt-Col. Smith and Major | Harvey, the latter taking four games. With these two players taking three sets, only two further sets were need- ed for victory, but the Medicals made a fine recovery and the final score was five sets to four, both other Ordnance pairs conceding two sets to their op- ponents. The weak link in the Medi- cals team was the Musson-Milne combination which failed to win સ single set.

In the singles Cpl. Webb of R.A.M.C. became the new Army Champion by defeating 'Cpl. Martin, R.A.S.C. I think the final scores were 6-4, 6-3. Martin was inclined to be erratic at times but with more experience should develop into a very good player in- deed. He has all the shots, but is inclined to execute them rather rashly at times. This game was played last
