A cannonshot was also fired, but missed. Pang Wo, sis- ter of the junk's master, wounded in the buttock.

London, To-day. COLONEL REITZ, South African Minister for Na- tive Affairs, in an Empire broadcast from London yesterday, referred to the forthcoming presence in London of Dominion Ministers. This, he said, would do a great service to the com- mon cause and be proof not only of Imperial sol- darity but also of realisation of the fate await- ing smaller nations in the event of Nazi victory. South Africa especially was under no delusion. Her PIONEER

It is thought in Copenhagen that the interruption was due to an air raid warning.

Presumably R.A.F.. planes were, in- volved, as the Air Ministry statement in London, yesterday stated that our planes made reconnaissance flights over Hamburg, Berlin and Magdeburg (75 miles west of Berlin). Reuter. PLANES RETURN BAFELY

AN APT RIPOST-TO RIBBENTROP'S SPEECH

-

London, To-day. Referring to the Royal Air Force reconnaissance flights on Tuesday*** night over Berlin; Magdeburg and Hamburg, the newspapers find food for reflection in the fact that at the very hour when Ribbentrop at Dari- zig was boasting, of Nazi might, as exemplified in the overthrow of Po- land, Britain's air power was again being demonstrated to the German people, unmistakably, but mercifully. -British Wireless.
