IT SEEMS CERTAIN that Army are going to be a real force in the Rugby world this season. The trials that have been held have resulted in a strong side being picked for the match against Club to-morrow, and I know Täll concerned are very hopeful of success.
Sutherland of the Royal Scots will be missed this season. He is at pre- sent in hospital and likely to remain there for some time and I cannot see
him taking any active part in the game this year. However, despite that a very strong pack has been mustered and the advent of Lieut. Ridsdale will be a great help.
I see that Lieut. Cuthbertson is not in the side for to-morrow. As he did not play in the trial on Tuesday I im- agine that he is on the injured list and when he is again available will pro- bably replace Blackman.
With Berry, Hewitt and Evans as the front line the pack is very strong, and Pinkerton and Page seem to fit the bill in the second row. It is in the back row where they have the great- est strength, however, being able to field Captain Duke, Lieut. Ridsdale and Lieut. Cuthbertson, which is a really impressive trio.
Lieutenant Otway has secured his place at back for to-morrow and may be all right after a few games, but at the present moment neither he nor Easterbrook quite fill the bill.

I do not give the R.A.M.C. a dog's chance of winning this game as the Volunteers must be easily the finest combination in local billiards. Teams are of eight and there is precious little. difference between the H.K.V.D.C. No. 1 and No. 8. What is likely to add to the odds in their favour is that oppponents drawn for and games are not played No. 1 against No. 1 and so on.

The Individual Snooker Championship which will be played on Friday November 2, will be a keenly-fought affair with two fina- lists who have shown consistently good form in the earlier rounds, Conductor Ebbage of R.A.O.C. and Corporal Harvey, R.A.M.C.
The former is a "southpaw" and
stands a great chance of winning pro- viding he can compete against the ex- asperating steadiness of Harvey who is one of those players who refuse to be ruffled by an important 'occasion!
The prize distribution will be made after the final of the individual billiards which is to be played on Friday.
