SPORTS PARADE
REINFORCED by several players from
South China Athletic Association, Kwang Wah should make their presence felt in local football circles this season, boing now in a position to fleld an extremely strong side.
They have however, lost the services of their best player, Hau Yung-sang, the Co- tony Interparter who has transferred his at fections to South Ching and is at present in Manila with the touring team.
Newcomers to the team are Léo xan- leung, Tse Kam-hung and Lau Fook-chuen, from South Chinn, all of whom have figured South at different times with one of the China sentor "teams."
Lee Kwok-kee will be seen in goal again. while Ln Shu-kar will be promoted from the junior team to take the place of Hau Yung dang and will be partnered by Chung Phi-
Tum.
Yeung Tee-tsong will again occupy the pl. votal position with Tso Kam-hung, formerly of South China, on his right and Chung Kath-fal completing the defence."
This defence is composed of young play. ers who are fast in their tackling and dis tribute well.
Acquisition of Lee Yan-leung for the for ward line has filled a long-felt want and he should do well as he will have the backing of four fast forwards.
Lau Fook-chuen, who will be playing for the first time this 'season for this team, is a fast forward with a dangerous shot, while,

T is reliably learned that there will be no Army Soccer League this season and that all Units have been encouraged to give the Hong Kong Football League every suppert. Friendly games will be arranged where possible.
It was pointed out that the obligations which would have to be tuinlled by a team. both to Hong Kong Football League, and the Army League might be too much in the pre- sent circumstances and that the need for football could well be filled by the provisions of the Football League.

They were U. §. 8. Asheville and our locar cracks, "The Champs."
This is not the first time that these teams have played against each other. Some months ago the local team emerged success- ful from a keen game by a margin of 301 pins over a five-game match. It was quite obvious on that occasion, however, that the sailors were right out of practice.
On Wednesday. "The Champs" were at full strength, Chas. Miller proving an able |

"Ashville" were represented by two play ers who have appeared locally before, name ly M. O. Gray and J. A. Harvey, while the other two were W. J. Balaski and F. G. Schneider.

WITH Gray and Harvey revealing their wealth of experience in notching the two highest scores, Ashville won the first game by a margin of 48.

As It is anticipated that there will be a large number of postponements in the Foot-dience. ball League it will now be easter for Army teams to catch up with their fixtures if they can play off League games during the
week.
The Third Division, with the exception of three teams, ts all, drawn from the Army and so that absence of an Army League this season would not be greatly missed by them.
The local team's sterling efforts were re warded in the next game when they at last managed to get their ndios in front; thanks to some fine work by Molthen and Venezia, and "The Champa” then led by 17 pins. This margin would have been even greater had not Harvey natched a fina 196..
By the final game, “The Champs" were wall under way, and they bowled irresistibly to win comfortably by 110 pins. Venezia was again their mainstay with a 203.
Highlights of the match were:-Highest score-Dick Venezia, 950;. Second, highest score-J., A. Harvey (Ashville.) 830.
It often happens that the youngsters' hopes in football arò, rudely shattered by ill-timed "advice" from well-meaning, directors, and, I am sorry to hay, by men who should know 1 better the club mafingers themselves."" believe that the lads should be given every opportunity to develop their natural talenta Arst, and then have their, faults, if pointed out.-Willle M'Cartney.
