London, To-day. LORD LINLITHGOW, Viceroy of India, yesterday read out
at Simla a message from His Majesty the King. The King expressed his deep satisfaction at the support in India for the cause for which Britain was at war and for the many efforts of assistance from both princes and people.
He was confident that in the struggle they could count on sympathy and support from every quarter of the Indian continent. Britain was not fighting for any selfish ends, but for a principle vital to the future of civilized
