MR. CHAMBERLAIN'S statement has left Cana- dians calmly awaiting the climax of the crisis, confident in Mr. Chamberlain's leadership. Canadians apparently unanimously agree that they!
would back Britain to the hilt in the event of war. The hearty response to the recent
Government call for volunteers for protection against sabotage indicates that Canada is willing to supply men in addition to resources.
Many are disappointed that the Do- minion Government has withheld of- ficial announcement regarding its position, but others agree that the pre- sent non-committal attitude is best to preserve the country's calm.--Reuter.
