CHINESE COMMENT Commenting on the Japanese Cabi- net change, the "Ta Kung Pao" presses the belief that the new Cabinet will not seek rapprochement with Britain, because the conflict of interests is too acute to be speedily adjusted. China is master of her own destinies and Japan and Britain can- not compromise with each other at her expense.

The "Sing Tao Jih Pao" says that the choice of General Abe as pre mier indicates that the 'new Japanese Cabinet is merely transitional in na- ture, and that its main purpose is to test the possibility of cooperation with Britain, The new Cabinet, however, will not succeed in settling the war in China,

The "National Times" observes that the Japanese Government shuffle will deal a severe blow to Wang Ching- wei as General Itagaki, his chief sup-. porter, is now off the stage.-Central News.
