Berlin, To-day.

Franz von Papen, the Ger- man Ambassador to Ankara, was received on Monday by the Fuehrer at Berchesga- den.

This fact, becoming known simul- taneously with the news of the im- pending negotiations for a non-aggres- sion pact between Germany and the Soviet Union, caused the rumours that Herr von Papen was connected with the negotiations.

It is learned from authoritative quarters that von Papen has been Ineither officially nor unofficially in Moscow, and that he is at present in Germany attending the funeral of his mother.

During von Papen's presence at Fuschl, and later at Obersalzberg, the subjects discussed with Ribben- trop and the Fuehrer were exclusively

confined to Turkish matters.-Trans-
