The Secretary for War, Mr. Hore-Belisha, immediately after

returning from Paris by special plane in the afternoon called at the War Office. Before leaving Paris, Mr. Hore-Belisha had a conference with the French Pre- mier, M. Daladier, lasting an hour.

A continuous coming and going of diplomats and politicians at 10 Downing Street led to a crowd assembling in front of the Foreign Office which finally was cordonned off by the police.

It is now certain that to-day's Cabinet meeting will be attended by all Cabinet Ministers with the excep- tion of the Lord Chamberlain, Lord Maughan, who is in Canada.
