TO-DAY'S LAWN BOWLS

CHAMPIONS SHOULD BEAT CRAIGENGOWER C.C.

(By "SKIP")

THE OUTSTANDING GAME IN TO-DAY'S LAWN BOWLS. PROGRAMME WILL BE THAT BETWEEN CRAIGENGOWER AND CLUB DE RECREIO “A”.

The match takes place at Happy Valley and promises to be as close as has the last three games between the two clubs in which the biggest win has been one of eight shots, a result which the Valley team achieved at King's Park last season. The Portuguese team, however, had its revenge in the subsequent encounter at the Valley.

seven

When these two teams met earlier in the season, Club de Recreio, thanks largely to C. G. Silva, won by shots, the last-named defeating U. M. Omar by 10 shots. The Champions are on the crest of the wave and should just about pull it off.

Kowloon Cricket Club, at home to the Police, should have little difficulty in maintaining their challenge to the Icäders, whilst the Civil Servants will begin their game against the Indians with a confidence which their recent performances justify.

The other game in this division is at Hung Hom and if the local team turns out as selected they should able to overcome

small margin. I understand, how- ever, that J. C. Brown, for one, is a doubtful starter having got rid of only about a dozen of his fifty-odd boils! The visitors will be without F. X. Soares, one of their regular skips as he has strained a tendon: Eddie Souza takes his place for this match.

SECOND DIVISION

have

The tit-bit of Second Division is at Quarry Bay where Craigengower are to be entertained. This should been the first match of the season but rain prevented play on what should have been opening day. In a match which is of great importance to both teams, I forecast a win for the home- sters.

Hong Kong Football Club need have no qualms over the result of their game against Police but the same can- not be said of the Civil Servants who will probably find Kowloon Bowling Green Club too strong.

THIRD DIVISION

be Club de Recreio, present leaders of Recreio "B" by athe third division are resting to-day
