The first meeting of the Manage- ment committee of the Hong Kong Football Association was held last night in the Association's offices.
TRIBUTE TO TOM HAYWARD
:
London, July 24.-As a tribute to the memory of Tom Hayward, the great Surrey and England batsman, whose funeral took place at Cambridge on Saturday, play was suspended at half-past two in the match between Kent and Surrey at Blackheath. For a min- ute the players on the field, the Surrey men who came out of the pavilion, and the spectators, num- bering about 4000, stood in silence.
Mr. Wong Ka Tsun was elected chairman of the Committee
and other members present were:- Messrs. W. Pryde (Chairman of the Association), W. E. Hollands, E. L. Strange, H. S. Cooper, W. Kirby, C. Guimgam C. A. Golden- berg (Hon. Secretary) and L. F. Souza (Assistant Hon. Secretary).
It was decided that the League should commence on September 28. As there were 15 applications to the Second Division it was decided to promote 30th, Royal Artillery, runners-up in the Third Division | season. last season into this Division ard that the Division be divided into two sections.
The applications of the 8th Bat tery, Royal Artillery, and the Inter- national Athletic Club to the Sec- ond and Third Divisions respective- ly were granted.
It was decided that the 14 remain- ing teams in the Third Division should constitute this Division as it was felt that there was sufficient time for them to complete the fix- tures as most of them would not be engaged in Shield ties during the
