To cope with the demand for better transportation. facilities owing to increased establishment of factories, workshops and other in- which dustrial concerns, many of have migrated to Hong Kong from Japanese occupied areas, the traffic authorities are allowing additional motor-trucks and lorries to operate on the roads.
Previously the number of licences for. motor-lorries and motor-trucks were limited and new licences were not easily obtained.
There are how between 40 and 50 new motor-lorries using licenses for thoroughfares, new which were issued some six weeks ago, approval being granted by the Commissioner of Police.
It is learned that there some 700 motor-lorries now operating in the Colony.
