There is no suggestion in the state ment issued to the press after the meeting by the Association that South China were being called to task for anything apart from the fact that they did not play ball in the closing stages when it became apparent they would win.
Presumably then, it can be assumed that the authorities are satisfied that general opinion, which was that South their China were loathe to deprive compatriots of a chance of winning the championship, is correct.

The South China team is composed of men who are prominent in more than one branch of sport and I am sure that they will not take the official As sports- censure in a potty spirit. men they must realise that some dis- .and ciplinary measure was essential I sincerely hope that they will, in their next fixture, indicate by their conduct on the field, that they bear no grudges.
