A Chinese military spokes- man stated in a press interview yesterday that the Japanese "mopping up" campaign in south Shantung had collapsed completely in the face of the Chinese resistance.

Mrs. Pratt, who actually came from Hinghwa, some 30. mile south of Foochow, in- formed the "China Mail" that the other foreigners at Hing- hwa, seven in all, were staying.
