THE CHINA MAIL, JULY 5, 1989.

FAREWELL DINNER TO MR. A. POLLOCK

Mr. A. Pollock, well-known Jocal ad- vertising executive who has resigned prior to his departure for Australia, was tendered a farewell Chinese din ner by the Directors and the Chinese Staff of the Advertising and Publi- city Bureau Ltd. at the Ying King Restaurant.

During the course of the dinner Mr. John A. Galvin, Director of the Ad- vertising and Publicity Bureau Ltd., traced the development of Mr. Pol- lock's association with the Company since he came from Scotland some three years ago.

During that time said Mr. Galvin, "Mr. Pollock had not only earned the full respect of his Directors, both as an efficient administrator and

-com- petent advertising man, but by his knowledge, conscientiousness and un- failing attention to duty, he had re- ceived the full confidence of the Com- pany's clients, so that during his stay with the Company he had built for himself an enviable reputation both as a business man and as an advertising consultant. It was with regret that the Directors had accepted Mr. Pol- lock's resignation and they felt that the Staff would be happy to know that they offered every inducement to get Mr. Pollock to stay with them but Mr. Pollock felt that by going to Australia now, he would be entering a wider field of activity, one where he hoped to again establish himself as an advertis- ing consultant.

"In view of what we know of Mr. Pollock, we are confident that he will achieve his objective but with hig departure, we would like him to know that he takes with him the complete goodwill of the Company and should he ever desire to return to the East either in a week or a year's time, The Advertising and Publicity Bureau Ltd. would be pleased again to avail themselves of his services."

em-

Mr. C. H. Wang, the oldest ployee of the Company then made a presentation to Mr. Pollock on behalf of the Directors and Staff, and in do- ing so, voiced their appreciation of Mr. Pollock's friendliness, and during the time he has acted as Manager of the Hong Kong Office, Mr. Wang said that their knowledge of his fairness had made working for him nothing but a pleasure.

The dinner. was. concluded: with a further toast to Mrs. A. Pollock who was a guest of honour of the even- ing.
