The House of Representatives yesterday approved the $225,000,- 000 parity payments vote by votes to 175.

SHANGHAI MARKET STEADY
Chungking, To-day.
A Chinese financier stated in an interview yesterday that the finan- cial situation in Shanghai was steady after the announcement of the Ministry of Finance to restrict deposit withdrawals to $500 week- ly, says a Shanghai report.
Withdrawals during the day, according to the financier, were reduced noticeably.
The financier explained that the action of the Ministry was to prevent of the flight of capital and he urged all Chinese citizens to respect the restrictions. Central News.
