In two important respects from that of twenty-five years ago. Then prac- tically all our main strength Was concentrated in Northern European waters, but we had more strength in Eastern waters than we have to-day. Our representation in the Mediter- ranean was only battle-cruiser squadron, a light-cruiser squadron, and some destroyers. To-day our capital ship strength is divided be- tween home waters and the Medi- terranean; our Eastern Fleet con- sists only of cruisers.
