WANG CHING-WEI'S SHANGHAI "FORTRESS": JOURNEYS TO TOKYO

Shanghai, To-day.

Mr. Wang Ching-wei, the deposed Kuomintang. leader, is to-day a resident in Shanghai, accord- ing to the "China Press," which, claiming to have obtained information from unimpeach- able sources, states that although a veil of se- crecy shrouds his whereabouts, there is no doubt that he is now in Shanghai.

Under the caption "Wang's For- tress Here?" the "China Press" gives prominence to photographs of his house in the French Con- cession which is reported to have been greatly strengthened against possible terrorist attack; at the moment it is heavily guarded by plain-clothes and uniformed police-

The "China Press," however, states that Mr. Wang Ching-wei is not living there and that it is not believed that he is residing "south of the Creek." Reuter.
