INTERRUPTS LEAGUE TENNIS
Owing to the poor state of the grounds resultant upon the rainfall of Tuesday evening and yesterday morning, only one match was play- ed in the "C" Division of the Tennis League yesterday.
South China and Recreto were very evenly-balanced and the draw of 4% sets each was a fair indica- tion of the play.

More Impressive Ampon was easily the more im- pressive of the two visitors. youth of 17, very diminutive in height and looking ridiculously young to be representing his coun- try, he made, all his strokes with firmness and confidence. If there is any criticism to make of his game generally it is in the matter of his positioning in doubles. He was far too impetuous yesterday and very inclined to go for everything within possible reach however awkwardly he might have been placed,
For the rest, his return of ser- vice on the forehand was very ac- curate a cross-court drive, very sharply-angled, making it extremely difficult for the incoming server to pick it up on the volley.
His volleying was incisive, and overhead, if not devastating, he was nevertheless effective with clever placements.
