Chin Sin-yan was sentenced to three weeks' hard labour by Mr. T. J. Houston this morning, for the theft of three brass taps from Aw Par Mansion, Taihang; two electric fans from Ho Tung Building; and the clothing, valued at $17, from Central Theatre.

Sergeant McKay said defendant was formerly a lift operator. On April 10, he was dismissed by the Central Theatre. He stole the clothing from his employer when he left.

Defendant went to the Ho Tung Building, and removed two electric fans from the lift. At the Aw Par brass Mansion, he removed three taps from the garden on Sunday night.

An Indian watchman, Tara Singh, of the Mansion, found defendant sleeping on the roadside and arrest-

ed him, on suspicion.
