And the cost of it all? It is eight years since we were last in Kashmir. At that time it worked out very roughly at a pound a head per day with extras for the ponies and the shikhara. Nowadays it may be more: but at double the price it must still, surely, be one of the finest and least expensive holidays it is possible to have anywhere in the world.
