Canton, To-day. With the approach of hot weather Canton faces a cho- lera outbreak.

It is officially learned that 270 cases have been reported at Fatshan, about 15 miles from Canton, of which 147 proved fatal, up to May 14. There have also been several cases in Canton and Honam Island.

The Japanese authorities are conducting a campaign to pre- vent the epidemic and are set- ting up free innoculation posts in various parts of the city.
