A statement was asked in the House of Commons yesterday by Sir J. S. Wardlaw-Milne (Conserva- tive, Kidderminster) regarding sei- zure by the Japanese of the Wil- liamson ship Sagres.

plied that the Government was awaiting a reply to representations made to the Japanese,
Mr. Butler replied in the affirma- tive when asked whether the ship was still under Japanese control.
