TICKET RÁCKETEERS

"There have been numerous assaults and a murder caused in- directly by these gangsters.. The theatre employees co-operate with them in purchasing tickets beforehand for re-sale to the pub-| lic. It is hard to detect them without the public's and the thea-. tre's assistance I want to re- quest the public not to buy tickets from them. They are believed to belong to a Triad Society.”

These allegations were made by Chief Detective Inspector A. E. Carey this morning after Mr. Q. A. A. Macfadyen had convicted two men of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner outside the Kwong Ming Theatre in Yaumati on Saturday afternoon.

The accused were Siu Yung, 22, and Lai Wing, 31.

Inspector Carey said he kept watch on the third class entrance of the theatre and saw the two ac- cused standing in front of the book- ing hole.

He saw them obstruct three wo- men and again to obstruct another woman, with whom they had an argument. Upon that, he arrested them. On search, 15 and 13 five- cent tickets were found in their possession respectively.

Mr. Macfadyen placed them on a $25 bond to be of good behaviour for one year, as both accused had a clean police record.
