STATEMENT

The National Council of Labour has appointed a sub-committee to draw up recommendations and a reasoned statement showing the Labour Party's opposition to conscription at present. These will be submitted on Thursday at a joint meeting of the General Council of the Trades Union Congress and the National Executive of the Labour Party and the Parliamentary La- bour Party. - Reuter.
