Bill, the London Zoo's male Sociable Vulture, has been missing his food for several days. Min, his wife, is ill and there is an egg that must be looked after. Usually when Min lays her annual égg or eggs the pair take it in turns look- ing after the nest. Min, however, came down from the nest on top of the aviary, and was not well enough to fly, back, so Bill has the job. Photo shows "Bill" keeping guard over the egg.
