INSURANCE HAS A VERY LEAN YEAR

(Continued from Page 4)

are suffering from the closing of var- lous China ports; previously. places such as Hankow and Canton were sour- ces of satisfactory income but now they are merely an axpenso. In Shanghai, we are holding our own very well in- deed, but overy dollar we earn is re- duced by 75% when transforred into Hong Kong currency. Believe me when I say that Insurance in times has its full quota of difficulties, like everything else.

YOU CAN GROW A COALIE-FLOWER

• Do you know what a coalie- flower is? It is the newest thing in table decoration, and is spreading through England. :This is how you can grow one:

Mix a small bottle of red ink (2d. size) with three tablespoons of household ammonia, two table- spoons of salt, three packets of a special powder blue, and three tablespoons of cold water.

Then place, four or five pieces, of coal, about the size of small oranges, in a glass bowl, and pour the mixture over them.

If you stand the bowl in a warm place and add a tablespoon of water and a teaspoon of salt every second day you will soon have a bowl full of pretty coalie- flower--a coral-like growth.
