Mr. Neville Chamberlain had an exceedingly busy day and it is plain that the British Government are taking a graver view of developments in Europe than first comments on the Czech coup indicated.

Lord Halifax, Sir Kingsley Wood (the Air Minister) and Mr. Oliver Stanley called at No. 10, Down- ing Street during yesterday morning, and Ad- miral Lord Chatfield (Minister for Co-ordina- tion of Defence) and Sir Thomas Inskip in the afternoon.
