HOAXED THE NAVY

AN AMAZING HOAX ON THE NAVY IS TOLD BY ONE OF THE; VICTIMS, OF IT VICE-ADMIRAL K. G. B. DEWAR, WHO WAS THE CENTRAL FIGURE IN THE FAMOUS ROYAL OAK CASE.

Shortly before the war H. M. S. Dreadnought, flagship of the Home fleet, was lying at Portland.

One

morning (relates Admiral Dewar in "The Navy $10m: Within" Gollancz 15s,) the commander-in- Chief received a telegram, ostensibly from the Foreign Office, saying that three Abyssinian Princes would visit the ship at 5 p.m.'.
