JAPANESE WAR AIMS No Intention Of Slackening In Offensives To Continue Until "Chiang Has Been Eliminated"
NAVAL CONTROL ON SPANISH PORTS TO END
London, To-day.
The British Government is mak-
ing efforts to dissuade other coun- tries from following the Soviet in leaving the Non-Intervention Com- mittee since, apart from the pos- sible political effects of such with- drawals, they would result in con- siderably increasing the cost to those States which continue to re- main represented on the Commit-
tee.
The present expenditure of the Committee is about £50,000 month- ly.
It is, nevertheless, believed that the Committee will soon be dis- solved.
Naval control of Spanish ports will, it is stated, cease at the be- ginning of April. This will mean & practical termination of the Committee's functions and its dis- Folution would henceforth be a mere formality. Trans-Ocean,
