Local Backs Probably Deciding Factor

(By "REFEREE)

THE twelth Interport Rugby match between Hong Kong and Shanghai will take place this after- noon on the Club ground commencing at 4 p.m. sharp. Hong Kong have perhaps rarely been as strong as they are to-day in all divisions, and par- ticularly in the back division, which is expected to play a vital part in to-day's match.

Although the Shanghai Rugby Union Football Club have sent their best team with one or two exceptions, they will probably find themselves up against the strongest opposition in a good many seasons.

Stewart and Bidwell and Grieve and Chadwick are very fine combinations: 1986–7 and both centres can be relied upon 1987–8. to make the necessary openings for their very fast wingers.

DANGEROUS PAIR

Hutchison and Henderson, the diminutive Club halves, are in ex- cellent fettle at the moment and Shanghai will have to be on their mettle to prevent a score from these

From what I have seen of Shang- they are likely to be overshadowed by the Club players. Mille is fairly big, for a stand-off- half and is not quite as fast off the mark as Hutchison, while Laird, did not impress me at all
