NO MAJORITY Considerable discussion but the proposal failed to gain a majority vote, it being the opinion of the majority of members that the Society could not afford the grant which would inevitably post- pone the inauguration of urgently needed additional centres of its own. Furthermore, the principle involved was deemed to be wrong being tantamount to the subsidising of an under-taking which should be adequately financed from public funds.
