One hundred Long Island (New York) motorista blew up toy hal- loons at the request of the police and medical authorities,

They were testing a "drunk- ometer." Air in the balloons was passed through chemicals, changes in which determined the amount. of alcohol present. It was found that forty-eight drivers had been drinking.
