Marshal Wu Pei-fu, former Anfu warlord, whom the Japanese have several times announced to have gone over to their side, yesterday receiv- ed foreign correspondents in his house, which was strongly guarded by Chinese and Japanese guards. The veteran Marshal, however, failed to make his
position clear.
He urged the benefits of peace, and went on to say that he had been asked by his Chinese and Ja- panese friends to come out and lead the peace movement.
