PREMIER QUELLS REVOLT OF JUNIOR MINISTERS

Lord Strathcona To Return To The Cabinet

London, To-day.

The revolt among the Junior Ministers, which at one time appeared as if it would seriously em- barrass Mr. Neville Chamberlain, now appears to have been quelled.

The dissentient Under-Secretaries were Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal, Under-Secretary for War, who resigned on Saturday, Lord Duf- ferin and Ava, Under-Secretary for Colonies, and Mr. R. S. Hudson, Secretary of the Depart- ment of Overseas Trade.

All three were gravely dissatisfied at the lack of progress in the rearmament programme, and following Lord Strathcona's resignation, Mr. Hudson (the spokesman of the "rebels") yes- terday called on Mr. Chamberlain to discuss

with the Prime Minister his position in the light

of the Cabinet changes.

MOTORING OFFENCES

Mr. A. J. Leask, of the Charter- ed Bank, was fined $10 by Mr. R. A. D. Forrest at the Central Magis- tracy this morning, when he was summoned for speeding in Ewo Hill Street.

Mr. Hudson tendered his re- signation, which Mr. Chamberlain refused to accept, and the former will continue in the Government.
