Carlo Giovanni, aged 28, a far- mer, of Italy, residing at No. 763, Nathan Road, second floor, was this morning charged at the Cen- tral Magistracy with importing into the Colony on the 'R.M.S. Em- press of Canada unmanifested cargo, gold bars to the value of $75,000.
Defendant who was arrested on Saturday, and was granted bail of $10 pleaded guilty before Mr. R. Edwards and was fined $50.
