Mr. Robert Hutchins, one of three representatives of the public on the Board of Governors of the New York Stock Exchange, has resigned his post.

He declared that his colleagues on the Board opposed the reopening of the inquiry into the "Richard Whitney scandal.”

This inquiry was to determine what disciplinary action should be taken against Mr. George- Whitney and Mr. Thomas W. Lamont, the noted financier, said Mr. Hutchins..

Mr. Hutchins alleges that George Whitney and Mr. Lamont were aware of the situation of the Whit- ney firm before Richard Whitney was exposed, says the B.U.P.
