BANK MANAGER'S STORY OF DAYS AS HOSTAGE IN ARAB CAMP
Jerusalem, To-day.
"For many moments I thought my last moment had come," said Mr. Louis Le Bouvier, British mana- ger of the Ottomon Bank, to Reuter, on his arri- val in Jerusalem after being kidnapped a few days ago by Arab rebels.
Mr. Le Bouvier revealed that a sum of money was
paid as ransom when he was released.
On reaching Jerusalem, the Briton was sitting be- side the driver of a police car, talking in anti- mated manner. He had no hat but appeared
well.
CHILDREN OF SIX IN JOSS STICK FACTORY
A fine of $100 was imposed on Leung Wing-shing, owner of a joss stick factory at No. 152, Queen's Road West, when a representative pleaded guilty to employing six girls between the ages of 6 and 8 years.
Mr. D. W. Phillips, Inspector of Factories, said that children under 14 were forbidden to be employed in factories. The business was not a big one, but defendant had a large factory in Kowloon and knew the regulations.
The children were presumably there to assist their mothers, who on piece work and made, probably, about 20 cents a day.

The bank manager described his three experiences as hostage for days and nights in the barren hills known in the Scriptures as the "Wilderness of Christ's Tempta- tion."
Mr. Le Bouvier said that when his car was rounding a bend he was suddenly confronted by ten, men, with levelled rifles. He was forc- ed to alight and was led away to the hills on foot. He had to march all night.
An hour after his capture a low- overhead, flying aeroplane passed and he was made to crouch low amidst the boulders.
