The well-known Kensington stores of John Bark- er's were fined £10 and twenty guineas costs in West London police court yesterday on a charge arising from the sale of a raincoat made in Japan without the necessary marking.

The defence asserted that everything possible was done to comply with the Merchandise Marks Act.
