ANGLO-AMERICAN TRADE TREATY SIGNED: HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE
Washington, To-day. The long-awaited Anglo-American Trade Treaty was signed at the White House yesterday afternoon in the presence of President Roose- velt.
Mr. Cordell Hull, the Secretary of State, signed for the United States, and Sir Ronald Lindsay, the Ambassador, for Great Britain.
At the same time, the United States and Canada signed a new trade pact to replace the one ex- piring at the end of the year.
Besides the signatories, numerous other British and Canadian diplo- mats, including the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. Mackenzie King, and Sir Herbert Marler, Canadian Min- ister to the United States, were present.
The occasion was described by Mr. Cordell Hull as of "historic significance."
