Heavy casualties were inflicted when a Japanese troop train struck mines and was attacked by Chinese guerillas at Changpao, between Linfen and Huntung on the Tatung- Puchow Railway.

"The locomotive was blown up by mines laid by the guerillas, and Japanese infantry aboard the train who escaped injury were shot down by the guerillas lying in ambush on. both sides of the track.

The guerillas made a quick withdrawal when Japanese rein- forcements arrived. Central News.
