5 GIRLS WENT TO

BUY A HAT

and only ONE came out of the shop with something that really suited her!

Here's the girl who ought to have bought the hat on the other side of the page.

Her face is pretty and rounded. And it needs soft curves.

All pull-on felts with small brims will make her a much nicer person.

And if she hankers after a large- brimmed hat, she must see that it sweeps up on one side.

We give her a word of advice about her eyebrows. They are too sparse.

Here she is!

She's got a broad face with a rather square jaw, and a shortish neck.

She needs a hat that balances the squareness and adds length. She found it-and wisely bought it.

It gives her just the right amount of sophistication without her look bizarre.

She must have been in a rush.

Because if she had seen herself as you and we can see her now- she'd have said no, firmly, but politely.

Bonnets, and off-the-face hats, are not for her-and it's all the fault of her nose and forehead,

The one is too long and the other slopes backwards too much.

If she really wantă a turn-up brim she should buy a breton, and` wear it low over her forehead.

Under the right hat,

This is definitely not the right hat.

What she wants is something small and squashed-or a flower- trimmed pillbox that is all Ed- wardian.

The height of this hat and the feather that is stuck in the brim give her too much length... She doesn't need it, and she does need a certain amount of width to balance her mouth.

.

This hat is too much the shape of her-face-only turned upside down. If she belonged to us, we'd drop her a hint about doing her hair, too.

We've seen lots of frenzied efforts towards the Edwardian hair-do- and most of them looked sights.

"It's not an easy style to wear— except for this girl. She's just right for it.
