NEW CZECH PROPOSALS Not Regarded As Acceptable In Budapest

REPRESENT

AN ADVANCE BUT NOT ENOUGH

Budapest, To-day.

The new Czech proposals to settle the minority dis-

pute were received at the Hungarian Foreign Office yesterday morning.

It is learned in well-informed circles that the pro- posals are still not regarded as satisfactory, though they show an advance on the previous proposals.

The new Czech offer is consider- ed to be insufficient to meet 'Hun- garian demands as regards the ex- tent of the Czech- and -- Ruthenian territory to be ceded, and as re gards the position of other minori- ties in Slovakia and Ruthenia.

It is understood that Hungary | intends to press strongly for a solution of the Ruthenian question on the principle of self-determina- tion, and for cession of Košice.
