JAPANESE WARSHIPS CLEAR FOR ACTION

A sensational report received
here states that all Japanese war- ships operating between Hong Kong and Hainan Island and those around Hainan Island and the Paracels, "cleared decks" for action yesterday.
Tension prevails along the coast and on Hainan Island as the result! of rumours that the long-heralded Japanese South China invasion will be embarked upon as soon as wdr breaks out in Europe.
