Regarding rumours that France might eventually demand right of passage for French troops through Swiss territory in case of a Euro- pean war, the "Gazette de Lausan- ne" observes that these rumours are obviously based on certain de- claration made at League Assem- bly in Geneva during the debates two years ago on the question of Sanctions, when it was maintained that it would be the duty of Swit- zerland, as a member of the League to allow the French army to cross her territory in order to come to the assistance of France's allies in Cen- tral Europe.
